Occupational Therapy at Coral Rehabilitation & Nursing of Arlington

The occupational therapists at our skilled nursing facility will work with you to increase your level of independence. We will help seniors improve their ability and confidence while performing activities of daily living (ADL’s) including bathing, eating, dressing, self-care and home management tasks.

As we get older, our risk of fall or injury increases. Our occupational therapists will guide nursing home residents through safety awareness and fall prevention education.

What to Expect During Occupational Therapy
  • We’ll do exercises to improve your upper body strength. This will improve your ability to dress, toilet, and other activities necessary to return home.
  • We will provide transfer training. This will give you the ability to stand or move to and from a wheelchair. It will also teach you and your loved ones how to lift and move you safely.
  • We provide wheelchair management. If you’re a wheelchair user, we’ll show you how to be comfortable, keep your muscles strong and reduce your risk of hurting your skin.
  • We’ll do cognition exercises to make sure that all residents are of sound mind in order to safely return home.
  • Cognition to make sure Residents’ can rationally demonstrate they are safe, in order to return home.
